Impact Analysis of Urban Morphology on Residential District Heat Energy Demand and Microclimate Based on Field Measurement Data

In this work, we focus on investigating the relationship between urban morphology parameters and residential building space heating energy performance, comparing microclimate conditions of existing blocks with central supply. Firstly, a dataset composed district morphological that measured heat consumption was established. Then, effects indicators including cover ratio, average height, floor area ratio efficiency were assessed specifically. Analysis results show larger induced reduction in density, observed effect is notable at an initial increase ratio. Thirdly, case study shows load districts high built density more sensitive to solar radiation. To further assess how what extent forms alter microclimates, on-site measurement investigated detailed changes thermal environment selected before after operational stage demonstrate delivered by supply could dampen variations local outdoor air temperatures, for higher during night period. Findings from work would be useful planners considering energy-efficient design practices.
